Sidney Paladwe
Sidney was born in Lilongwe, Malawi and attended
Malungunde School.
He worked as a farmer in Malawi before coming to South Africa in 1995
where he worked on a farm as a manager in the Broedestroom district of the
North West Province. Sidney learnt to do pottery with Anne Sole in 1998
which he did in his spare time until Joy suggested that he join Creature
Pots full time in 2003. He then moved to live on the farm where Creature
Pots is situated.
The distinctive patterns on Sidney's pots and choice of colour show a
strong Malawian influence. He has a bold approach to the portrayal of
chameleons, lizards, frogs and dragonflies on his pots.
