Nono Ntoi
Nono
was born in Schoemansville near
Hartebeestpoort Dam in the North West Province of South Africa. She
attended the Ennis Thabong primary school and the Phatudi High School in
Atteridgeville, Pretoria. She obtained her matriculation cerificate by
correspondence through the Intec College.
Nono is married to Solomon and they are the proud parents of 2 boys,
Lesego and Ishmail. She started her pottery career in September 2000 with
Anne Sole who started Creature Pots. Nono has developed a distinctive
style of her own which has a gentleness to it that is conveyed in the
small furry creatures and delicate butterflies and dragonflies that adorn
her pots. She has also perfected the making of beautiful coiled
cone-shaped pots that have a very pleasing and decorative form.
Besides being a potter, wife and mother, Nono does AIDS counselling based
at a rural clinic and regularly attends courses to add to her counselling
knowledge and skills.
